How are KDP paperback royalties calculated?
On Amazon.com, royalty = royalty rate × list price − printing cost. The rate is 60% for list prices of $9.99 or more and 50% below $9.99. Expanded Distribution pays 40% of list price minus printing cost.
How much does KDP charge to print a book?
For a regular-trim black-ink book, printing costs $2.30 for up to 108 pages, and $1.00 plus $0.012 per page from 110 pages. Standard color is $1.00 plus $0.0255 per page, and premium color is $1.00 plus $0.065 per page (a flat $3.60 up to 40 pages). Large trims cost more.
How are Kindle eBook royalties calculated?
The 70% plan applies to list prices from $2.99 to $9.99 and deducts a delivery fee of about $0.15 per MB. Outside that range you get 35% with no delivery fee.
