Frequently asked questions
What margins does Lulu require?
Lulu asks for a 0.5 in safety margin on every side of the page. For books over 60 pages it also recommends extra gutter space on the inside edge, from 0.125 in up to 0.75 in depending on page count.
What page size do I set for a Lulu interior with bleed?
Add 0.125 in on every side, which is 0.25 in to both width and height. A 6 × 9 in book becomes 6.25 × 9.25 in. Without bleed, use the trim size.
Are Lulu margins different from KDP margins?
Yes. Lulu’s 0.5 in safety margin is larger than KDP’s 0.25 in minimum outside margin, and Lulu adds bleed on all four sides of an interior page, while KDP adds it only to the top, bottom and outside edge.
